To enroll in government primary and secondary schools in Singapore, international students typically need to take the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) organized by the Ministry of Education. The exam covers English and Mathematics.
To prepare for the AEIS, students often attend preparatory courses in private schools. These courses aim to familiarize students with the exam content and format, enhancing their proficiency in English and Mathematics. After completing the preparation, students take the AEIS, and based on their performance, they become eligible for placement in government primary or secondary schools assigned by the Ministry of Education. This process ensures that international students are academically prepared for the Singaporean education system.
