The primary advantage of PEP is that holders can change jobs without reapplying for a visa, as long as they do not remain unemployed for more than six months within a year. During this period, PEP holders can stay in Singapore without applying for other types of residence visas.

PEP holders are eligible to apply for dependent passes for their spouses and children under 21. They can also apply for long-term visit passes for their parents.
